Greetings and Happy New Year!
We all know that the tech industry has positively affected the 2014 Lake Tahoe real estate market in both luxury and throughout other markets in the region. Executives from Apple, Barracuda, EBay, Google, and more, have recently purchased property in North Lake Tahoe. Vail Resorts has pumped more than $30 million into the Northstar Resort in an effort to appeal directly to young tech families. Surf Air recently announced service from the Bay to Truckee Tahoe’s private airport while Reno Tahoe International Airport has announced direct flights from London. Martis Camp has sold 42 custom homes for $155m, and 101 homesites for an additional $111m, totaling $266m! Mountainside at Northstar reports sales of more than $40 million this year, and Northstar as a whole reports $95m. Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows report $65M in sales as they press onward to expand the Village and amenities into one of the best resort destinations in the world, and financing is now available in the Village. Sugar Bowl and Homewood both have agendas to offer additional ski-in/ski-out real estate and major mountain enhancements. Now just may be the time to consider making a ski resort property a reality for your family as the entire Tahoe Truckee Region is certain to be the top international year-round resort destination in the coming years.
